n almost every room of the house, we use both general lighting and task lighting. One room where many of us particularly want to provide both types of lighting is the kitchen. Task lighting is the lighting we use to clearly see something we are doing. Reading lamps and desk lamps are two examples.
One of the most important parts of the kitchen design process is deciding how to light the room. Due to the multifunctional nature of the kitchen, the lighting used plays a huge part and can make or break the space, so it needs to be just right. Ideally, kitchen lighting should allow you to prepare food with ease, but also have the ability to create an inviting atmosphere for entertaining guests. In other words, the lighting should be just as versatile as the room itself.
Pendant lights have been around for a while, but that doesn’t mean there’s only one way to use them. In fact, far from it. Occasionally you need to shake things up by combining traditional design elements with new pendant light ideas. Often the results turn out better than you ever could have imagined.
