There is no shortage of kitchen appliance options. But none of them are as critical as the fridge. It might not seem glamorous, but the refrigerator is a superstar in any cooking space. If you’re just moving into your first apartment, a smaller, standard fridge is a great place to start.
Wood of various types, qualities, strengths and colors : high strength, durability, flexibility for handling shapes and styles, varied colors and long life. Oak, pine and alder are the most common, resistant and economical, accessible prices and, in the case of pine, with the advantage of taking the finish and color of any other type of wood. The colors range from creamy yellow to chocolate, to red, greenish-brown, with streaks or smooth patterns.
Another idea for using unexpected wood textures in the kitchen is to go as natural as you possibly can. The photo above shows a countertop that looks like the wood was just dragged right out of the forest and thrown onto the kitchen island. When combined with the sleek white design of the rest of the kitchen, it’s another interesting high-contrast style. Warm wood floors stop the countertop from looking too out of place. You could use similar highly rustic textures in other countertop spaces or in chairs and stools, too.
