Another idea for using unexpected wood textures in the kitchen is to go as natural as you possibly can. The photo above shows a countertop that looks like the wood was just dragged right out of the forest and thrown onto the kitchen island. When combined with the sleek white design of the rest of the kitchen, it’s another interesting high-contrast style. Warm wood floors stop the countertop from looking too out of place. You could use similar highly rustic textures in other countertop spaces or in chairs and stools, too.
Mild steel cabinets get rusted if powder coating is not done. Mild steel above or near the stove area should be avoided as cabinets can get heated and opening them will become very difficult. You should get good quality shutter hinges and drawer channels so that they do not get spoilt by rusting specially in monsoons.
Use creative colour combinations for the built-in table and the kitchen furniture. For example, use a combination of benches, stools and chairs for your dining area. It could work quite well to delineate the kitchen and the living room.
