The brown color pallette is one that brings forward an elegance that also feels familiar and safe. The space is not intimidating, but rather seems like you’ve known it forever and when you add a dynamic rug into it, the room becomes lively! It’s easy for a white dining room to look elegant, but when it has hardwood floors it’s going to need a little help from a rug to feel softer and gentler. Elegance often means delicacy and vulnerability; allow your dining room to radiate both by picking a rug that isn’t boring, but retains a simplistic look.
Today we’re showcasing the beauty of a simple, refreshing table setting, especially as we get ready to welcome the warmest season of the year! Start with a few basic ingredients and experiment with special touches, but remember that less is more if you want the food to take center stage. Whether you prefer light, bright and crisp or warm and inviting, we’ve got you covered.
If there is one style that epitomizes a blend of modernity and inimitable rustic elements along with ageless beauty of wood, then it is modern farmhouse. As the name suggests, you can blend in modern and farmhouse style design elements in here while varying the proportions of each to get a desired look of your choice. If you happen to be someone who loves the classic, farmhouse vibe more, then load up on additions like the wooden hutches, a heavy wooden dining table with weathered finish, chairs clad in plaid and a beautiful chandelier to give the dining room that timeless appeal.
The large live-edge wooden table is another striking addition that surely brings something special to the dining room while weathered and repurposed décor adds another layer of visual warmth to the exquisite dining space.
Our dinner plates are a discontinued pattern from Crate & Barrel (learn more about the Claire pattern here). The teal appetizer plates come from CB2 and are a gloriously affordable $1.99 apiece! We love the idea of topping each plate with a special bite, such as round crackers covered in goat cheese and pink peppercorn. Our greenery was picked up at the local market, labeled “California filler” and sold for $3 a bunch!
